These seats looks stunning when paired with gold painted cast iron fittings, but alternative colours can be used. Seat numbers of your choice can also be painted onto the seat bases. We will also paint or stain the board the cinema seats stand on to work with your room and flooring.
All of these customisation options are available at no additional cost. We'll be in contact to confirm your preferences and estimated delivery timings. Lead times do vary, depending on our current order list, but we will discuss timings with you. Please contact us if you would like an indication of current lead times before ordering.
Before delivering your refurbished cinema seats we will:
strip, repair and refinish the wooden backs, arms and seat bases to reveal the lovely wood grain
clean by shot blasting, prime and paint the cast iron legs and seat brackets
replace the internal upholstery and padding with equivalent natural and fire retardant materials
finish the seats and backs in a beautiful fire retardant velvet
fix them to a wooden board, painted or stained to suit
We recommend the chairs are fixed to a board or to your floor to keep them stable. We supply them on a removable wooden board that we paint or stain to fit in with your flooring and the velvet, but many of our customers do choose to screw them directly into the floor.
Materials
Velvet: We love to use soft velvets on our cinema seats as we feel it suits their style and reflects their past. There are lots of colours and designs to choose from and we are always happy to chat with you about what you are looking for and help you with some ideas. Anything we suggest will be suitable for upholstery, fire retardant and hard wearing.
Wood: The wooden top rail, shaped arm rests, curved seat backs and seat bases are all stripped back then stained and refinished with Osmo Polyx oil. There will be marks in the wood due to their age, but this adds to their unique character.
Metal: Cast iron legs and fittings will be cleaned and repainted, but due to their age there will be dents and marks, or character as we like to call it.
Fillings: The chairs have deep sprung seats and natural fillings, which we repair and replace as needed.
Single vintage cinema seat in Soltar Ink velvet
The theatre seats we work with are originally from the 1930s/40s and have been salvaged over the years from theatres as they get renovated. They have had a good life before we get our hands on them so will never look brand new or have a factory-perfect finish. There will be imperfections and ageing, but that's what makes each one unique and special. We always choose our pieces carefully, so they will last for many years to come.
Lead times do vary, depending on our current order list, but is usually 10-12 weeks. Please get in touch for an idea of current timings.
